True Heroes

A Hero is usually a good guy and in the face of danger and adversity displays courage. Also from a position of weakness displays bravery and self-sacrifice. A hero does things for some greater good of all humanity. Rama shows these characteristics to his people. For example when he was to be banished instead of being king he went without question. A journey such as this shows much courage to an individual and sacrifice. The best characteristic he showed was bravery when he went to save Sita. He fought a 10 headed man In order to rescue her. Now Rama and Gilgamesh have nothing in common. Rama was a good man to his people who was treated with respect and treated others the same. Gilgamesh however may have ended that way, but started off totally different.  This guy was king and would rape women of his own village and just did what he wanted just because he wanted. To me Gilgamesh was no hero. He didn’t do anything heroic besides Kill the Giant and the bull which I think were for self-pleasure any way. Enkidu was more a hero than Gilgamesh. A hero you can compare Rama to would be Superman. Rama does justice for his people and so does Superman. Superman shows loyalty to his true people of krypton, but he also shows loyalty to the people of earth. He proved himself with his courage bravery and strength to be a true champion and one of the best heroes of all time. Rama’s traits show the best comparison to Superman.  There are many others you can choose to compare, but with the strength of loyalty that they both have this shows the respect they have from there people. Respect is a strong thing to earn from others and in order to be a good hero you must earn respect than take it.

Human Heroes

http://youtu.be/6ZeGfiGcmDU
Two of my favorite heroes are from a TV show called Supernatural. Sam and Dean are two brothers who started off looking for their father who disappeared, and on the way have had to fight off demons and other paranormal things. Dean was of age when he saw his mother die in Sam’s nursery and the same way she died. When Sam was older he saw his girlfriend die the same way. So as the journey begins for these two brothers they find a lot of bumps on the road to where we are now in the show. As I said they’ve fought demons, ghosts, shape shifters, and even themselves. Sam and Dean could be looked at as very close or very distant, but no matter what was thrown in front of them they still found a way to win against evil. There was an important part of their journey when Sam was chosen as a 6 month old baby when he had demon blood dripped into him. He was stronger than demons when he learned he had to drink blood, but of course Dean did not agree with this. The journey get s hot and heavy when Sam finds out the reason he was chosen is because he was Lucifer’s vessel. Also Dean found out that he was supposed to be Michael, the arch angel and Lucifer’s brother, vessel. So with the story at the point to where Sam and Dean would have to fight with Lucifer and Michael in their bodies it was time to figure out how to stop this. Not to get into the hole series, but the brothers overcame and won, but with a small cost. Sam felt if he lets Lucifer take him over he would be able to control him which he did, but that was the only way to throw Lucifer back into hell he had to throw himself in there as well. Of course the season is still going on there for Sam has returned from but not without a cost, and now the two brother are up against creations from purgatory called the Leviathans. Man I can’t wait for this Friday night for episode 3 of season 7. This is a cool journey because these are two human boys with no superpowers that fight all the urban legends, myths, and creations and find ways to come on top.
